I love these two pictures...

I got a new chair prop a while ago and took some quick shots of Kenna sitting it to see how it would photograph..

I have to say I LOVE it!

She looks like she enjoys life so much..

She's such a happy little girl!

Four Friends

My best friend and I took our kids to an amusement park a few weeks ago. We had the brilliant idea of getting their photo done dressed up in those old saloon type clothes.

HA

HA

HA

The first indication it wasn't going to go well is when her little guy wouldn't get dressed.. But the older girls were SO excited we couldn't back out..

Here is the best of 30 shots..

Poor Owen is screaming/crying on the floor, Kenna has a gun pointed at herself. The older two are good.. Shocker there...

Later we went out for lunch and I snapped this one..

Note to self... Kids are WAY easier to shoot from behind..

Paddle Boating and Tubing

We decided to bring the tube with us this year thinking maybe if Kinz wore her goggles she would like it..

HA!

I sat with her and then she sat on my lap. All that accomplished was the tub tipped forward, almost knocking us out and getting us soaked.. To make a long story short, if you layed on your stomach it wouldn't tip. BUT then she would have to do it alone which totally wasn't happening..

Of course Kenna wanted a turn so they both sat on my lap while Tim pulled the boat at 3 miles an hour. They thought it was a BLAST!

Later Tim and Kenna did the paddle boats.. I thought poor Kenna was going to sink. Between her and Tim there is a little bit of a weight difference ;)

Later we had races Tim and Kinz against Kenna and I...... Needless to say Kenna and I weren't on the winning team.. I am pretty sure Tim gave us the broken paddle boat that didn't steer.. For a while I thought we were going to go over the falls..

Two summers ago one of Tim's best friends bought Big Pine Camp, another resort on the same lake as Arrowhead. I think it's so cool the only 2 resorts on this lake are both owned by our friends and family. Last night we took the boat over and had a BBQ. Neil's brother, Chris (baby Emily's Dad) and his wife came as well as Neil's in-laws. They also had some guests that had 2 babies under 12 months and a little boy who will turn 4 in Aug. Within minutes of us getting there, he and Kinz were fast friends. By the end of the night the mom was asking if we would come back and play before they left on Thursday! At one point the little guy's Grandpa came out of the cabin laughing saying they were curled up on the couch watching a movie.. I think he got a BIG kick out his grandson having a crush on Kinzley.

Then this morning we were awaken to knocking on the door, her two little friends were wanting her to come swim. AT 8:00 AM!

I have a feeling I am not nearly going to be fun enough for this girl when we get home.

More Swimming..

Kinzley decided to 'model' for me a little. The only reason being it was a Sat. and all her friends left and the new ones had yet to come in.

Almost everyone is camp this week is from Iowa. It's so funny to drive 600 miles to be with people you live 30 minutes from. There is one family who lives in Shellsburg... They have a 8 year old boy, a 4 year old girl and a 5 month old girl. There is also another family from Palo with a 6 year old girl and 2 older girls, 8 and 10. Needless to say Kinzley isn't hurting for friends this week either. It will be a wonder if I can get her back home next week.

This morning we are going to get some blueberries (if I can drag her away) I'll be sure to post pictures later!

Isn't this picture of Kinzley very Bo Derek??

Random Photos of Kenna

Kenna was playing peek-a-boo with Grandma behind the laundry room door and I got these shots. She can be such a ham when she wants to take pictures.

Nothing like a little small aleck!

I didn't get any pictures of Kinzley because she was much to busy doing this........

She SOOOO didn't get why they wanted to lay in the sun.........Not at all......

New Friends

One of the best things about having a resort in the family is meeting all the new people who come on vacation. Some years we come the same week as before, other years like this year, my brother goes and gets married the week of our vacation and we have to come a different time.

Last year we came up the first week in July and wouldn't you know there was another 4 year old girl named Kynsly.. Of course my Kinzley made fast friends with her.. They live in Iowa also and the girls's birthdays were within a month of eachother. Since then we have sent Christmas cards and my Kinz talks about her all the time..

This year we came up 2 weeks later so there is a different bunch of people. We never know if they will have kids or not. This past week 75% of the camp was a family that has been coming here for 25 years. The kids are all grown up with kids of their own. There are 3 girls, ages 7, 8 and 13 that Kinzley decided to become friends with. She is so sure of herself she has NO problem making people love her. Luckliy for me they included Kenna with their fun so I could have a little break.

I managed to get a few shots of them all together.

Of course everyone loves a camera so it wasn't to long until they hit me up to take some pictures.. They did pretty darn good..

They found out quickly how frustrating it is to get Kenna to look at the camera. There are SO many times I wish I could do the same thing!

When she did decide to cooperate I got this big old cheesy grin!

Playing with a worm.... Do we ever have some tomgirls!!!

Sandkinzley...

There's nothing that says vacation more than burying your child in the sand =)

This one cracked me up!!

Kenna wouldn't let me bury her for fear she might get dirty... She wasn't in the mood for pictures so this is all I got for her..

Kinzley's footprints....

Another Photo Shoot

Before the wedding rehearsal a couple weeks ago, I made the girls take some pictures.. What a mean mom huh?

In my defense they were clean, hair curled (well Kinzley, not everyone is blessed with the beautiful curls Kenna has, which I am sure she will HATE later in life and wish for stick straight hair) ok so clean, curled and dressed. Getting them ready is half the battle so I wasn't missing this opportunity.

Out they went.... I should mention my poor husband is sitting in the car sweating, waiting patiently.. He's the best!

This first one is one of my favorites I have taken on Kinz in a long time.. I need to go buy some new frames because this one is going on my wall for sure..

I love how photos capture personalities. Kinz has that perfect tilt of the head, mega watt smile and sparkle in her eye. The wedding photographer was so impressed with how well looked at the camera and smiled with no prompting.

She told her "My mom takes my picture A LOT"

Speaking of personality.. Kenna was also captured to a 'T'

She just can't help it. She is such an ornery little thing!

Where's Waldy?

We took the girls out fishing yesterday for the first time this year.. I had forgotten how much work 2 girls in the pontoon boat are.

Tim let the girls pick out their own lure. Kenna picked out a pink fluffy princess lure. Imagine that! She took the last one so Kinzley was not happy she had to have a yellow plastic jig.
Kinzley casted out ONE TIME and said "why aren't we catching any fish?" I knew then we weren't going to be out on the lake very long. Luckily within a few more casts I caught a northern. Man the girls were ever excited.

It's a wonder Kenna got close enough to get in the picture. She was a little freaked out to say the least. The Northern was flopping up and down and she fell backwards screaming =)

A little later I caught a perch. Which Kinzley named Wally. Kenna couldn't say Wally so she called him Waldy, much to Kinz's dismay. Tim filled the live well with water so we could save it to entertain the girls and buy us some more fish time. We were laughing that we bet that poor perch sure wishes he wouldn't have bitten that lure.. Talk about tortue..

Kinzley was all excited that she could reach into the livewell and pull it out by it's tail.. Kenna on the other hand finally got brave enough to 'pet 'im"

They played with Waldy/Wally for at least an hour before we threw him back.

I can bet he won't be biting a fluffy pink princess lure again any time soon.
