{ Mother's Day 2011. }

We had such beautiful weather in Iowa this weekend. Finally it looks like spring is here to stay, even though today is cool and rainy and tomorrow is suppose to be 89 degrees!

But we managed to get not one but two perfect days this weekend. Just in time for Mother's Day!

The girls made Mother's Day presents at school. Kenna didn't manage three steps in the house after preschool Thursday before she was reaching into her backpack to pull out the gift she made.

She was so proud, showing every single person that walked into our house. {grin}

Kinzley on the other hand was a bit more secretive about hers. She made me promise not to look in her backpack, then ran into her room to hide her gift. {She ended up giving me a crayon shaving suncatcher which I forgot to take a picture of. }

She also have me two other things that melted my heart.

One.

For those of you that can't read 1st grader, This Mother's Day coupon is good for: "I will do what ever you say except Rocket Math." HA!! I guess she is getting tired of me making her practice her math!

The other thing she gave me was a copy of an essay she wrote in a Mother's Day contest.

"My mom is the greatest because... She buys me frozen waffles and they taste awesome. My mom is the best!"  Never mind the pancake batter I dyed pink to make bunny rabbit pancakes the other day. Or the homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, muffins that I make from scratch. Never mind any of that. Can you guess what Kinz will be having for breakfast the.rest.of.her.life?!?!? {grin}

Pome ---->  {poem} "My mom is a christian and so I am. We want a friend and we want a butterfly."   Seriously what more can a mom ask for?!? To know as a mom I am doing what God has called of me on this earth. To know my daughter knows I am a Christian and that so is she. In this day and age to feel secure enough to write it in school.

Be still my heart, be still.

{I'm not sure what the butterfly part is about ;) }

I had a great Saturday filled with my girls and husband, shopping, soccer games, a photo shoot, Olive Garden, a bonfire and a blessed Sunday with family having a picnic lunch {in a RV}, mushroom hunting, brownies, card games, finishing a novel by my favorite author and getting our garden tilled and ready for planting!

All this and I get to be called Mom to the two best girls I know!

A terrific Mother's Day indeed!!!
