{ pick up sticks. }

We live in the country on just about 2 acres of land. We have lots of tree on our property. Some are pine tree's that don't lose a lot of branches, just a lot of pine cones. We have a walnut tree that loses all the walnuts it has on it. We have other trees {which are...brown and green....and I have idea what they are ;) } Some of these tree are healthy, other's not sp much.  It's these trees that lose branches during wind storms or during a long Iowa winter.

Every single spring I spend the first 3 or 4 warm weekends picking up sticks. {Or in all honestly using the leaf blower and making piles to pick up}  This year seemed like I did a lot more picking up than normal. I filled the back of our "gator" no fewer than 4 times. 4 separate weekends I worked until finally the yard was done to my satisfaction.

Whew.

Three days later our local electric company came and took down a tree that was too close to a power line at the edge of our property.

A big tree.



With lots and lots of branches.



These pictures don't really do it justice. The truck measures over 4 foot wide. Far wider than Kenna is tall.



And unfortunately for Tim this 'pick up sticks' job is a little bigger than what I can clean up on my own.



But who knew how many hours upon hours of entertainment a cut down tree would bring to not only my kiddos but my daycare kids as well?



I wonder if they think helping clean up this mess is as fun as climbing on it? :)
