{ 1st day of school x2. 2011. }

Last Thursday Kinzley woke up bright and early. { seriously 5 o'clock AM early.} I felt a little tap tap tap on my shoulder and felt her breathe in my ear and heard the words, "Pssst Mom?!? I just heard a roaster. I think it's time for me to get up and go to school."

My response back? "It's a rooster and it is not time. Climb into my bed... We have an hour and a half yet to sleep."

Sleep. Right. She bounced, she kicked, she wiggled. Finally I gave in, only to hear her screech in my ear that finally it was time!

It didn't take long to get her dressed and outside waiting for the bus.

She just LOVES her Justice backpack. {Does anyone else think Justice is ridiculous expensive?  Even when you use the 40% off. So expensive in fact that I made her pitch in part of her own money since she HAD to have this one :)}

Oh look who woke up!

Waiting for the bus...

Her face when she sees the bus, just makes me laugh!

Before Kinzley gets on the bus, she looks back towards the house and runs back. My heart melts a little thinking she needs one last hug from her Momma. Instead she runs right past me and grabs her cat for one last hug!

Nice.

Finally. Finally. She's off.

Kinzley had two half days of school before my Kenna girl got to join her in school as a Kindergartener!!!

Kenna has been waiting and waiting for this day.

Her Mom on the other hand isn't quite as ready. I love the summers when I am able to spend my entire days with my girls. I love having them home, hearing their voices, seeing them run across the yard, having one on one time late at night with them. School is just so bittersweet.They thrive in social situations. They love to learn. But I MISS THEM!!

Ok I digress, back their big days {sniff sniff :) } Much to their dismay I made them skip the bus ride and drove them to school for Kenna's first day.  It didn't take long for Kinzley's friends to take Kenna under their wing and take her clear across the playground to play. But not before I snagged her back for a few quick photos.

And when Kenna's best friend showed up any 'twince' {to quote Kinz :) } evaporated. Can they smile any bigger?

When it was time to line up confident Kenna followed in her sister's footsteps... 1st in line :) {well until a friend started crying and got moved to the front ;) }

Within just a few minutes Kenna walked into the school to begin her 1st year of school.

And then I cried just a little.

It's such an honor to watch my girls grow. Even if it is a bit hard on the heart at times. :)I am so glad God chose me to be their Momma!

ps... I totally made Kenna's owl outfit for her first day of school! It was a personal goal of mine for the summer to make it. Finished it up Sunday afternoon at 4:00 ;)
