{ Bailey, Senior Pictures part 2 }
You may remember a few weeks ago when I posted pictures of a photo shoot from my cousin Bailey. I had taken her senior pictures when we were up in Canada but they wanted a few more pictures taken in the fall, so on a beautiful afternoon I headed to their family farm.

{ Rainbow Bright }
Every Wed is color day at Kinzley's school. One week she will have to wear as much pink as she can, the next week green etc... The kids then get to graph what they wore..
This week was the last and final week.{YEAH!!! I know it's educational and all and the kids love it but it' such a pain for me.} For the last week it was rainbow colors. They needed to wear as many colors as they could. Looking thru Kinzley's closet we quickly realized she has lots of pink, browns and blue but nothing very rainbow-ish.
However Kenna's wardrobe is full of color. Lots of color. Lots of striped color.
A size 4/5 dress quickly became a tunic and by layering a pair of boots over pair of 3T leggings you couldn't even tell they were too short.
I really thought she should wear brown leggings. She really thought she should wear the striped ones. "Mom stripes match... Striped dress, striped leggin's"
Whatever. It's her body. It's her color day. I am trying very hard to step aside and let her pick out her own clothes. Even when it's not something I'd neccassairly pick out myself. You know what they say about your clothing choices being a way to express yourself..
{And Kinz does like expressions}
{She even picked out rainbow hairclips}
{and we couldn't forget the nails}
Kinzley=Expressions.....just a little bit

Newborn Will & Family
A while ago Heidi contacted me about doing some photos of her new little one. The problem was she was still pregnant. Meaning I had to wait to do the pictures of a sweet newborn. Then she had the gall to not find out the sex before the baby was born. The nerve of some people! {grin}
Finally a little boy was born into their sweet family.
I met little Will when he was 6 day, yes days old. I'm surprised you couldn't hear my heart pitter pattering all the way thru the computer.

Doesn't he look sweet and innocent?
It wasn't as easy as it looked. First it started sprinkling raindrops so we had to hold an umbrella over him. And when I say we I mean Heidi. I couldn't stop taking pictures long enough to keep her brand new baby dry. Then we had another sprinkling of sorts, when little Will decided to "sprinkle me." Poor Heidi felt terrible, but it wasn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last.
Then there is big sister Olivia.
Little Liv had just waked up from a nap and had little desire to get dressed, let alone pictures taken. Dad was left in charge while we took the baby outside. We could hear the crying thru the closed door and Brad came out a few minutes later and said "She'd like her mom to dress her." It's nice to know it's not just our house with the girl drama.
Needless to say I was imagining when she finally emerged she would have tear stained cheeks and red puffy swollen eyes.
Instead she comes out looking like this..
Sweet Liv who would fit so well in our house, with her blonde hair and blue eyes. With a huge personality on top of it. Liv who just sat right down, looked into my camera and smiled. Over and over and over again. I think I asked her parents if she really was only two about 10 times.
My favorite part of the whole photo shoot was when I layed Will next to Olivia. She sooo sweetly repeated my words back to her little brother "Widdle brudder, wook in the camera... There is a monkey in there." {Grin} She then said "Ok.. I'm done.. Get him off me. Get this widdle baby off of me now!"
{Thanks Heidi and Brad for sharing your family with me}
You are so blessed!

{ Every witch needs a cat }
I had full intentions of doing a full Halloween post. I even spent an afternoon last week dragging out past Halloween photos of the girls.
I spent a few hours looking back thru the years remembering what the girls had dressed up like.
A flower, a giraffe, a skunk {my personal favorite for Kinz}, caterpillar, 2 butterflies, a handful of princesses, a monkey {my favorite for Kenna} I figured you guys would like to take a little trip thru memory lane with me. However it's not going to happen this year. {grin}
I did want to post the pictures for this Halloween though. Ya know since I kinda blog as a journal for the girls to read when they get older. They aren't going to look back and think their mom didn't let them go trick-or-treating in 09! Oh no they are not!
I don't know about your house but around here your costume is a.big.deal. The final costumes weren't even close to the original costumes they started off thinking they would dress up as.
Kenna: She thought about being a cowgirl, then Taylor Swift, before finally deciding on a friendly witch. Her favorite part was saying "Ahhh hhha hhaaa I'll get you my pretty."
As for Kinzley. Taylor Swift was her #1 choice, until she remember she wanted to be a cheerleader last year. So cheerleader it was..
Until Kenna decided to become a witch {grin}. Then Kinz had to switch costumes again because every witch needs a cat.
Complete with collar of course.
Her name was "Sassy Green-eyes."
They are quite the pair don't ya think?

{ Reason #432 & #433 }
I am tired tonight.
Every night this week we have had somewhere to go.
I started watching another 3 year old little boy this week.
3 three year olds.
I am tired tonight.
I opened the freezer and the opened frozen peas that Tim just put in there fell to the ground.
Peas all over the floor.
Reason #432 that my husbands rocks...

Reason #433
Kinzley had girls scouts tonight. Tim offered to go in and pick her up.
From girl scouts.
Girl.
Scouts.
What a man!

{ If you give a mom a muffin }
As you may have noticed my posts lately have been few and far between. While I do have things to say {shocking I know} there just doesn't seem to be enough time for me to sit down and put thoughts together in a blog post.
I know every mom out there struggles with juggling everything that we moms do. Getting kids to school, making snacks, getting costumes ready, buying groceries, toothpaste, clothes soap etc etc etc. Some days it truly feels like I run all.day.long {and I don't mean on the treadmill} and don't get anything checked off my list. I am pulled in one direction after another leaving 1/2 done things in my wake.
So when I reading a friend's blog {because serioulsy I may be short on time, but reading about the lives of other mom's is sometimes the only way to keep my sanity.} I stumbled across the following cute little poem based on the book series "If you give a mouse a muffin." I know you know the book I am talking about. It's the one the kids ask you to read just as you are sitting down to relax for the night. Instead you smile and say, "I'd love to read to you honey" as silently you are thinking "Really! Didn't I just read to you last night?" Don't you dare act like I am the only mom thinking these thoughts! {grin}
It made me laugh out loud because it's the story of my life. The simple fact it's not just this mom who lost the ability to finish a thought let alone get anything completed in one sitting, it's all of us moms.
If You Give a Mom a Muffin
by Kathy Fictorie
If you give a mom a muffin,
She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
Her three-year-old will spill the coffee.
She'll wipe it up.
Wiping the floor, she'll find dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan for supper.
She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She'll look for her cookbook ("101 Things To Do With a Pound of Hamburger").
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow.
She will look for her checkbook.
The check book is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two-year-old.
She'll smell something funny.
She'll change the two year old's diaper.
While she is changing the diaper, the phone will ring.
Her five-year-old will answer and hang up.
She'll remember she wants to phone a friend for coffee.
Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
And chances are...
If she has a cup of coffee,
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.
